Backyard Shacks is a new range of kit homes from one of Australia’s most respected and trusted steel buildings suppliers, Ranbuild.

Backyard Shacks provides a comprehensive range of well designed and quality manufactured granny flats, houses, and extensions that bring with them the strength, confidence and heritage that come with the backing of an existing market leader brand in Ranbuild.
The Backyard Shacks brand expands on the traditional and collectively termed the ‘Granny Flat’ market. We thought that ‘granny flat’ didn’t really capture the diversity of uses a small second dwelling can have so our Shacks range aims to extend your thinking, limited only by your imagination!
Whether it’s for a private sanctuary for parents or teenagers retreat, a home office, man cave, art studio, gymnasium or for accommodating elderly parents; the end result is an attractive, value for money building that can be used to solve your extra space requirements.
The range of Backyard Shacks provides flexibility in design and size that offer you an affordable option for second dwelling applications. There are nine individual ‘shack’ designs in the range with three roofing options available on most shacks. From one bedroom designs up to three bedroom weekend house designs, each can be self-contained with kitchenettes and bathroom facilities.
We can also provide comprehensive electrical and plumbing plans for each Shack so if you have experience in larger DIY projects or are a licensed owner builder, constructing any of our new range Shacks will be a breeze or talk to one of our local dealers how they can help you build.
Our Shacks are made entirely of  BlueScope steel with Colorbond® roof and wall sheeting so they won’t rot, warp or be effected by termites. We provide comprehensive engineering plans and elevations, plumbing and electrical plans, even a Bill of Materials to complete the internal fit out.
